Jason has a stellar resume, including professional play with Manchester City FC from 1986 to 1992. In addition to playing, Jason has his UEFA A coaching license and his Canada Soccer Youth and Children’s Licenses. He has coached at Manchester City, Bolton Wanderers and was a Manchester FA Licensed Tutor where Jason began his specialization in Coach training. Jason is currently an Ontario Soccer Master Learning Facilitator and Coach Developer and has delivered parts of Canada Soccer’s National C and B License courses.
The EODSA is on a year long mission to modernize its governance and membership documents and policy framework. While we work on those important pieces, we cannot forget that it is the development of the player that is always our guiding principle. Having Jason address the technical and logistical side of the youth game at the same time will, in the near future, see the EODSA in a leading role in soccer in Ontario.

Ottawa's Samuel Charron named CSA’s Para Soccer Player of the Year Friday 16 December 2022 Download full article |
Samuel Charron from Ottawa, Ontario has been named Canada Soccer’s 2022 Para Soccer Player of the Year. One of the best in the world, the 24-year old footballer won his second IFCPF World Cup Player of the Tournament award in 2022. “Samuel is a great captain and leader both on and off the field for our National Team,” said Drew Ferguson, Canada Soccer’s Para Soccer National Team Head Coach. “We had a great World Cup and Samuel was the Most Valuable Player as we finished ninth in the world. He suffered a fractured finger in our first game, but he played the next four games with a soft splint and never once doubted himself. He is just not the type of player who plays at less than 100% or wants to sit on the sideline.” Charon led Canada with five goals and three assists while playing every minute of Canada’s five matches in the competition. He scored the 1:0 winner against Netherlands, scored twice against Venezuela, and scored two late goals to send their Australia match into extra time. He also assisted on Yuri Costa’s 1:0 winner against Spain to secure ninth place in the tournament. Charron, who has been part of the Canadian program since 2010, is now a three-time winner of the Para Soccer Player of the Year award (2016, 2019, 2022). He has represented Canada at five IFCPF World Cups (2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2022) and won the Player of the Tournament award twice (2019 and 2022). He has scored 48 career goals in 56 international "A" matches. Alongside Charron, previous winners of the Para Soccer Player of the Year award are Jamie Ackinclose (2017), Brendon McAdam (2012), Liam Stanley (2013, 2014), Trevor Stiles (2015), and Damien Wojtiw (2018). |

The Ontario Soccer Summit is Ontario Soccer’s pinnacle annual personal and professional development and networking event with a track record of modern and meaningful content and leading speakers unrivalled in the country. We are delighted to confirm an extraordinary trio of keynote speakers that will truly change the game for all in attendance at the Ontario Soccer Summit 2023.
1) John Herdman – Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Team Head Coach:
On the eve of Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Team staging their long-awaited return to the global stage at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, Ontario Soccer is elated to announce that iconic Head Coach John Herdman will spearhead a group of outstanding keynote speakers.
Herdman is the architect of the Canadian Men’s National Team’s meteoric ascent from the periphery of the world’s game to becoming the reigning Kings of Concacaf securing their first World Cup berth in 36 years in the process while beating both their confederation rivals Mexico and the US in the process.
This magnificent feat is even more extraordinary, seeing that Herdman achieved similar breakthrough success with the Canadian Women’s National Team program previously, building it back up from scratch between 2011 and 2018. During his tenure, the Women’s National Team posted 62 wins, 14 draws and 32 losses in 108 international “A” matches, competed in front of a home crowd at the FIFA Women’s World Cup (2015) and won back-to-back Olympic Bronze medals (2012, 2016).
Early on in his reign as Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Team Head Coach, Herdman inspired the audience at the Ontario Soccer Summit 2019 in London with sharing his vision for turning Canada into a bona fide Footballing Nation. Don’t miss the opportunity to witness this gifted presenter in person at the Ontario Soccer Summit 2023, when he shares behind the scenes anecdotes from Canada’s adventures at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, while charting a course to the FIFA World Cup 2026™ in Canada, the US and Mexico.
