As of Nov 12th, Eligible EODSA Clubs can Return to Phase 2. The Return to Play Guide has been updated based on new Government Framework.
We have exciting news! Ontario Soccer announced that Phase 2 of the Ontario Soccer Return to Play Plan will now commence for approved regions across the province. Please refer to the updated Return to Play Guide for specifics on health and safety protocols and recommendations as part of Ontario Soccer’s Phase 2 of Return to Play.
With the announcement, EODSA and Ottawa Clubs are currently listed under phase 2 of the Return to Play Plan. So what does that mean?
- Organizations, which have already completed the Return to Play protocols, or have already begun Phase 1 of Ontario Soccer’s Return to Play Plan, may now move to Phase 2 when they are ready to do so.
- Phase 2 allows for inter-squad modified games (only within the Club/Academy), with restrictions on league, exhibition, festival, or tournament games still in effect.
- As of Sept 17th, 2020, Phase 2 will also allow for modified games within the region. The East Region includes: Eastern Ontario District Soccer Association (EODSA), Southeast Ontario Soccer Association (SOSA) and Soccer Northeastern Ontario District Association (SNE).
- Each club, regardless of the stage, must continue to follow the proper protocols outlined by Ontario Soccer in order to return to play.
This is an exciting step for soccer, but we ask that you continue to respect the COVID-19 guidelines set up by the province. So drop off and pick up protocols will remain in place, and at home or online COVID-19 self-assessments should be completed before arriving at practices. Stay safe, stay positive, and stay active! See you on the pitch!
